Michael A. Glasnovich, 72, of 1193 Spruce, Galesburg, died at 6:40 a.m. on Tuesday, September 25, 2007 at OSF St. Mary Medical Center, Galesburg. Michael was born on November 5, 1934, the son of Jako and Elizabeth Matto Glasnovich. He married A. Linda Hutson on January 12, 1957 in Galesburg. Surviving Michael are his wife, Linda of Galesburg; 4 sons, Michael and Thomas (Jan) both of Galesburg, Jeffrey of Seattle, WA, and Matthew (Dawn) of Peoria; 2daughters, Karen (Steve) Benedict of Knoxville and Amy (Doug) Dawson of Altoona, IA; 6 brothers, Nick (Pat) of Sun City, FL, William G., John (Jean Ann), Steve (Sara), and David (Paula) all of Galesburg, and Phillip (Pat) of Abingdon; 5 sisters, Mary McMahon of Knoxville, Suzanne (Dan) Howard, Theresa (Bill) Bivens, and Cecilia (Tedie) Maxwell all of Galesburg, and Anna (Dave) Skrzelowski of Lake Side Park, KY; a sister-in-law, Shirley of Titesville, FL;18 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by one brother. Michael graduated from Corpus Christi High School in 1952. He attended Western Illinois University. He served in the US Army. He was a member of Immaculate Heart of Mary Church. Michael was manager and co-owner of Glasnovich Tavern, Inc “Jakes” in Galesburg. Michael was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. His passion was spending time with his family and friends. Funeral mass will be at 10 a.m. on Saturday, September 29, 2007 at Immaculate Heart of Mary, with the Reverend Ernest Pizzamiglio, officiating. Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. Friday, September 28, 2007 at Watson Funeral Home, with the rosary being prayed at 8 p.m. Burial will be in St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Galesburg. Memorials may be made to the St. Vincent DePaul Society or to the American Heart Association.
