Wanda E. Fairow

Wanda E. Fairow, 83, of 1644 Indiana Dr., Galesburg, died at 2:20 a.m. on Saturday, May 10, 2008 at Cottage Hospital.  Wanda was born on October 25, 1924 in Jewett, MO, the daughter of Leslie L. and Jewel Horton Firebaugh.  She married John E. Fairow, Sr. on May 3, 1942 in Kahoka, MO.  He preceded her in death on December 26, 2003.  Surviving Wanda are 3 sons, John Fairow of St. Louis, MO, Richard Fairow of Altona, and Darin (Melissa) Dorethy of Monmouth; 2 daughters, Barbara (Jeffrey) Rote and Lela M. Fairow both of Galesburg.  Also surviving are 17 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren, and one great great granddaughter.  She was preceded in death by a brother and a grandson.  Wanda graduated from Brown’s Business College and worked as a consultant for Perz and McGuire Attorneys At Law.  She was a charter member of the Country Music Club in Galesburg and was active in Cursillo.  She was a member of Corpus Christi Catholic Church and its Altar and Rosary Society.  Wanda spent her life being devoted to her children and grandchildren.   Funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, May 13, 2008 at Corpus Christi Church, with the Rev. Joseph Presley, officiating.  Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. Monday at Watson Funeral Home, with the rosary being prayed at 8 p.m.  Burial will be in St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Galesburg.  Memorials may be made to Costa Catholic Academy.
