Adaleen Irene Bell, 98, of Galesburg, died at 8:20 a.m. Monday, April 27, 2015 in Heartland Health Care, Galesburg. Adaleen was born April 9, 1917 in Peoria, the daughter of Edward Lee and Bessie Blanche Foster Laughlin. She married Jack W. Bell on January 20, 1946. He preceded her in death on February 12, 1974. Adaleen is survived by a nephew, Darrel E. (JoAnn) Allen of Kansas City, MO; four nieces, Kathy (Ron) Custer and Janet Ricketts both of Galesburg; Karen (Mike) Herting of Cary, and Carol (Mark) Danielson of Carthage, MO; and several great nieces and nephews. Including her husband, Adaleen was preceded in death by her parents; her twin sister, Kathleen Kennedy on April 27, 2010; and two brothers, Lawrence E. Groff on February 4, 2007 and Clifford Snyder. Adaleen was a homemaker. She raised and bred Poodles and Pekinese dogs for many years. Adaleen also enjoyed crocheting and working in her garden. She also was her twin sister’s caretaker for many years. Graveside services will be 9 a.m. Friday, May 1, 2015 at Memorial Park Cemetery, Galesburg. Pastor Dennis McQuown will officiate. No visitation is planned. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Defender’s of Freedom Veteran’s Home, 1270 Conger St., Galesburg, IL 61401. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Watson-Thomas Funeral Home and Crematory, Galesburg.
