Alice A. Owings

Alice A. Owings, 59, of 383 E. Ferris St., Galesburg, died at 3:15 p.m. on Friday, March 7, 2008 at Cottage Hospital. Alice was born on September 5, 1948 in Mexico, Missouri, the daughter of Virgil and Onita Stringer Fields. She married Robert A. Reitman. They later divorced. Surviving Alice are 2 daughters, Lisa (George) Owings and Fara-Ann (James) Gossage both of Galesburg; a sister, Roberta Burns of Holts Summit, MO; and a granddaughter, Natasha Gossage. Also surviving is a dear friend, Agnes Smith of Galesburg. Preceding her in death was a son, Brett Reitman in 1980. Alice was a waitress for several years. She last worked in housekeeping at Heartland Health Care. Cremation rites have been accorded. A celebration of life will be held at a later date. Watson Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
