Alice G. Tibbals

Alice Geniva Tibbals, 82, of Galesburg, died at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday, September 6, 2016 at Marigold Health Care and Rehab, Galesburg. Alice was born January 2, 1934 in Barton, ND, the daughter of Charles and Clara Nelson Vaughn. Alice is survived by two sons, Alan Sasse of Galesburg and John (Maria) Sasse of Manzanillo, Mexico; one daughter, Ann Marie (Martin) Edwards of Alexis; and one sister, Louise (Wilbert) Harsch of Pick City, ND. She is also survived by 8 grandchildren; 22 great grandchildren; and 3 great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents and 5 sisters. Alice worked as a hotel manager for many years in North Dakota and Montana. While living in North Dakota and Montana, Alice was active in the Moose Lodge and Elk’s Lodge. She loved cats, tending to her flower garden and enjoyed traveling. While living in Glendive, MT Alice sang in the Timeless Praise church group. Most of all she enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. Visitation will be 10 to 11 a.m. Saturday, September 10, 2016 at Watson-Thomas Funeral Home and Crematory, Galesburg. Funeral services will follow at 11 a.m. Pastor Jon Sims will officiate. Burial will be in Norwood Cemetery, rural Alexis, IL. Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association of to the Guardian Angels.
