Andrew James Pitman

Andrew J. Pitman, 63, of Galesburg, died at home, Friday December 11, 2015 at 12:19 p.m.   Andrew was born February 20, 1952 in Galesburg, Illinois. He is the son of James and Maxine (O’Brien) Pitman. He is survived by his sister, Susan (Bob) Mills of Muskegon, Michigan and his twin sister, Anne (Dan) Miller of Ely Iowa; special cousins, John (Linda) Krupps of St. Augustine, Joseph (Gina) Krupps of Galesburg, Dr. Barbara Weaver of Chicago and Carol (Doug) Wilson of Washington; he is also survived by many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews. Andrew was preceded in death by his parents, special aunt and uncle, Bill and Dorothy Krupps, special cousin, Mary R. Krupps. Andrew was a Costa graduate; he then served in the US Army from 1972-1974 and later graduated from WIU. He worked for the grounds department at Knox College.  Andrew enjoyed bicycling, photography and traveling. He was a member of Corpus Christi Catholic Church. He was loved by many and will be deeply missed.   Visitation will be held Monday December 14, 2015 from 5-7 P.M. at Watson-Thomas Funeral Home and Crematory, Galesburg. Rosary will be prayed at 4 P.M, Deacon Michael Crummer will officiate. Funeral Mass will be Tuesday, December 15, 2015 at 10:00 A.M. at Corpus Christi Catholic Church, Galesburg.  Father William T. Miller IC will officiate. A private family burial will be held at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery. Memorials can be directed to St. Vincent De Paul.
