Andrew M. "Mickey" Gugliotta

Andrew Michael “Mickey” Gugliotta, 77, of Galesburg, died at 7:37 p.m. Wednesday, January 27, 2021 at home with his family by his side. Mickey was born September 10, 1943 in Chicago, the son of John Angelo and Marion (Faraci) Gugliotta.  On May 9, 1964, Mickey married the love of his life, Bonnie Joy Kasper at St. Odilo Catholic Church in Berwyn, IL. She survives as do their three sons, Andy (Linda) of Franklin Park, Michael (Rosa) of Montgomery, and Stephen (Ericka) of Galesburg; and two brothers, Joseph (Barbara) of Schaumburg and John (Vera) of Palatine. Mickey is also survived by his nine beloved grandchildren, Vincent, Gabriella, Megan, Michael, Isabella, Anna, Danny, Sophia, and Andrew. He was preceded in death by his parents. He attended St. Patrick’s Catholic High School in Chicago. Mickey began his career working for Bell Telephone Co. in Cicero in 1963.  While working at Bell he was active in many of the company’s clubs and activities from playing softball to acting in company plays. He went on to work as a steamfitter and retired from AT&T in Chicago on October 31, 1999. Mickey coached little league baseball for eight years when his sons were young.  Most of all, Mickey loved being with his family and his family loved being with him. Visitation will be 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday, January 31, 2021 at Watson Thomas Funeral Home and Crematory, Galesburg.  A prayer service will follow at 4 p.m.  Deacon Michael Crummer will officiate.  Services will be live streamed at www.watsonthomas.com .  Cremation will be accorded following services.  Due to the COVID-19 Pandemic face masks will be required and additional COVID restrictions will be in place.  Memorials may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
