Anna Lee Hicks

Anna Lee Hicks, 91, of 2345 N. Seminary St., Galesburg, died at 9:53 p.m. Friday, November 6, 2009 at Seminary Manor.   Anna was born on February 24, 1918 in Galesburg the daughter of Daniel and Anna E. Coombs Butts.  She was adopted by James and Elizabeth Daley.  She married Howard Hicks on November 17, 1940 in Galesburg.  He preceded her in death on July 24, 1989.   Surviving Anna is 2 daughters, Sharon (Kenneth) Hicks Smart of Leitchfield, KY and Kathy Hicks of Galesburg; a brother, Cyril W. Butts; and a sister, Sr. Theresa Rose Butts.  Also surviving is 3 grandchildren, Kenny and Dan Smart, and Kelly Henderson; and 4 great grandchildren, Luke and Grace Henderson, and Austin and Jaymi Smart.   Anna was a homemaker.  She was a member of St. Patrick’s Catholic Church.Funeral Mass will be 11 a.m. Monday at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, with the Rev. Msgr. Ernest Pizzamiglio and Deacon Jim Haneghan officiating.  Visitation will be Sunday from 5-7 p.m. at Watson Funeral Home with the rosary being prayed at 7 p.m.  Burial will be in St. Joseph’s Cemetery.  Memorials may be made to St. Patrick’s Catholic Church; Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church; or to OSF Hospice.
