Anne L. Patterson

Anne L. Patterson, 84, of Galesburg, formerly of Butte, MT passed away Saturday, November 24, 2018 at home. Anne was born on April 23, 1934 in Arthyde, MN. She is the daughter of Arthur F. and Lydia H. (Levanen) Johnson. Anne met the love of her life, William J. Patterson, Sr., while working at St. James Hospital in Butte, MT. He had just gotten out of the Air Force working as a med tech and she was a nurses aide. They married on July 25, 1954 in Butte, MT. They celebrated 59 years of marriage before his passing on February 5, 2013. Anne is survived by her loving children, Gale (Mark) Stanley of Galesburg, Timothy B. Patterson of Warm Springs, MT, Michael S. Patterson of Missoula, MT, William T. (Mary) Patterson of Shawnee, Ok, and Diana L. Patterson of Galesburg; 5 grandchildren, Kimberly Stanley, Christopher Stanley, Cody J. Helms, Jillian M. Helms, and Jennifer Patterson (Fabio); and one great granddaughter, Smilla. She is also survived by siblings, Helen (Harley) Smith of Dillon, MT, David (Shirley) Johnson of Butte, MT, and Jeanette (Roger) Knoell of Butte, MT; and numerous nieces and nephews. Along with her husband, Anne was preceded in death by her parents; two sons, William J. Patterson, Jr. and Randall S. Patterson; and one brother, Dale A.F. Johnson. Anne worked for many years as a CNA at St. James Hospital, Silver Bow General Hospital, Crest Nursing Home and the Park Royal Nursing Home. She loved working with the Alzheimer’s patients. She came to Galesburg to be close to her daughters and grandchildren after her husband died in 2013. Cremation rites will be accorded and private family services will be held. Arrangements have been entrusted to Watson Thomas Funeral Home and Crematory, Galesburg. Memorials may be to Alzheimer’s Research, Western Illinois Cancer Care, Illinois Cancer Care Center, or St. Jude’s Hospital.
