Audrey Adelia Shelley

Audrey Adelia (Jennings) Shelley, 88, Galesburg, Illinois, passed away Thursday, Oct. 4, 2012 at OSF ST. Mary Medical Center in Galesburg, Illinois.  Audrey was born January 2, 1924 in Canton, the daughter of Martin A. and Julia E. Voorhees Jennings.  She married James Robert Shelley on June 18, 1949 in North Henderson.  He preceded her in death on January 11, 1997.  She is survived by two sons; Tim (and Laurie) Shelley of Terre Haute, Indiana, and Terry (and Erin) Shelley of Danville, Indiana; a daughter, Sherry (and Mark) Totten of Galesburg; and 6 grandchildren.   Audrey worked as Senior Secretary for the President of GALE Products MFG Division of Outboard Marine Corp for a number of years and then was employed by Galesburg Unemployment Office up until retirement.  She was a member of the Henderson TOPS Club and the Knox County Home Extension Club.  Audrey will be remembered as a courageous cancer survivor, a beloved wife and a mother who loved her family with unfailing devotion.   Cremation rites have been accorded and are entrusted to Watson-Thomas Funeral Home.  A Visitation will be held Friday, October 5, 2012 from 6-8 p.m. at Watson-Thomas Funeral Home, Galesburg.  Memorials may be made to Susan G.
