Audrey Jane Roller

Audrey Jane Roller, 89, of Galesburg, died at 10:15 a.m. Wednesday, December 01, 2010 at Heartland Health Care, Galesburg. Audrey was born on April 24, 1921 in Danville, the daughter of John D. and Ruby (Todd) O’Connell.  She married Walter E. Roller on November 3, 1945 in Danville.  He preceded her in death on June 10, 1979.  Audrey is survived by 2 daughters, Mary Ann (and John) Sammons of Illinois and Janie Roller & Peggy Marie of Texas; a son, Gary Roller of Galesburg & friend Rosita Dean of Iowa; 3 grandchildren, Tracy (and Steve) Sammons Andretich, Troy (and Keli) Sammons, and Kyle Roller; and 2 great grandchildren, J.J. and Johnny Andretich.  She was preceded in death by an infant brother and parents. Audrey graduated from Danville High School and Utterback Business College where she was a member of Delta Zeta Tau sorority.  Prior to getting married she worked as a secretary at the VA Hospital in Danville.  She was a homemaker and Galesburg resident since 1945 and was a member of Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church.  Later she owned an antique shop, Kuriosity Korner in Galesburg, with her husband Walter.  Audrey loved antiquing, auctions, playing bridge and canasta, was an excellent cook, & loved cooking for her family. Funeral Mass will be at 11 a.m. on Monday, December 6, 2010 at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church with Msgr. Ernest Pizzamiglio officiating.  Visitation will be from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. Monday at Watson Funeral Home.  Burial will be in Abingdon Cemetery, Abingdon.
