Barbara Jean Wright

Barbara J. Wright, 70, of Galesburg, died on Saturday, February 17, 2018, 6:30 AM, at her home in Galesburg. Barbara was born on April 10, 1947, in Mc Cook, Nebraska. She was the daughter of Loren and Evelyn (Uhren) Petty. She married the love of her life, Orie E. Wright in July of 1965 in Galesburg. Orie preceded her in death in 1998. Barbara is survived by her son, Mike of Galesburg; brothers Nick (Rose) Petty of Abingdon, George Petty of Galesburg, and Loren R. Petty of Lyman, Nebraska; sister, Pam of Galesburg; and a grandson, Evan Wright of Galesburg. Along with her husband, Barbara was preceded in death by her parents. Barbara was a caregiver. She loved to help others. Barbara enjoyed family “get-togethers,” especially when they involved Rose’s tacos. She loved music. Most importantly, Barbara loved her son and her grandson. Barbara’s absence will be greatly missed by those who loved her. Per Barbara’s wishes, cremation rites will be accorded. A visitation will be held on Wednesday, February 21, 2018 from 5-7 pm at Watson-Thomas Funeral Home and Crematory, Galesburg. A burial of cremated remains will be at 10 am, on Friday, February 23, 2018 at Oaklawn Memorial Gardens, Galesburg. Arrangements have been entrusted to Watson-Thomas Funeral Home and Crematory, Galesburg.
