Barbara Sue Leafgreen

Barbara Sue Ehler Leafgreen, 77, of Rio, died at 10:42 p.m. Tuesday, September 29, 2015 at home. Barb was born June 4, 1938 in Tamaroa, IL the daughter of Charles Leslie and Virginia Dare (Dennis) Ehler.  She married Harvey Leroy Leafgreen on September 14, 1957 at the Rio Presbyterian Church in Rio, IL.  Barb is survived by her husband, Harvey of Rio; one son, Darrell (Keely) Leafgrean of Rio; a brother, Leslie Ehler of Knoxville; a sister, Lolly (Rodney) Swanson of Rio; and a daughter-in-law, Becky Leafgreen, Galesburg.  She is also survived by three grandchildren, Jacob (LeeAnna) Leafgreen, Cody Leafgreen, and Amanda Leafgreen; four step grandchildren, Amanda (Adam) Main, Melanie (Levi) Bloss, Andy Zander, and Geoff Baughman, and four great grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by her parents, a son, William Leafgreen on September 2, 2015 and a great granddaughter, Aleigha Bloss on November 23, 2013. Barb worked for many years at F & M Bank and retired from Wells Fargo Bank in 2000.  She loved to read and collect dolls and pigs.  She and Harvey enjoyed travelling throughout the United States.  Barb was a longtime member of Rio Presbyterian Church. Cremation rites will be accorded.  Private family services will be held Sunday, October 3rd.  There will be no visitation.  Cremation arrangements have been entrusted to Watson-Thomas Funeral Home and Crematory, Galesburg.  Memorials may be made to the family for a fund to be designated at a later date.
