Benjamin Wright

Benjamin Wright, 52, of Galesburg, died Saturday, August 31, 2013 at his home.  Ben was born August 7, 1961 in Galesburg, the son of Oria and Sarah (Mendoza) Wright, II.  Ben is survived by his mother, Sarah Zimmerman of Victoria; three brothers, Sam Albert of Galesburg, Oria “Buddy” Wright, III of Florida, William “Bill” Wright of Galesburg; and two sisters, Trish (Ben) Forsyth Voss of Victoria and Barbara (Tom) Wright Ennis of Galesburg.  He is also survived by several nieces and nephews who he all loved. Ben was a proud veteran of the Army Airborne from 1986-1988.  He prided himself on being an “East-ender” and loved animals, especially cats.  He was the primary care giver of his mother and previously worked at LR Nelson and Dick Blick.  He loved history and had a great memory for facts and dates.  He was an avid Cubs and Bears fan. Cremation rites will be accorded.  Graveside services will be 1 p.m. Saturday, September 7, 2013 at East Linwood Cemetery. A celebration of life will follow at the American Legion from 3-5 p.m.   Cremation services have been entrusted to Watson-Thomas Funeral Home, Galesburg.  Memorials may be made to the family.  Online condolences may be offered at www.watsonthomas.com
