Betty J. Anderson

Betty Jean Anderson, 83, of Galesburg, Illinois, died peacefully at home on Tuesday, February 11, 2025 surrounded by her loving family.

Betty was born October 3, 1941 in Oakland, Illinois, the daughter of Paul Matthew and Dorothy Exie (Davidson) Campbell. Betty married Douglas E. Anderson on September 6, 2002 at Oak Run. Doug preceded her in death on November 5, 2020. Betty is survived by two sons, Greg (Michelle) Carns of Galesburg and Mark Carns of Rock Island, Illinois; and one daughter, Angie (Scott) Benson of Knoxville, Illinois; ten grandchildren; and many great grandchildren. Along with her parents and husband, Betty was preceded in death by one sister, Kay Goff; and three brothers, Jerry, Larry, and Thomas Campbell.

While living in Pennsylvania, Betty worked for Behr Paints for 25 years. She later worked for many years at Knox County Nursing Home, prior to retiring in 2004.

Betty loved spending time with her family and friends. She enjoyed many rounds of golf at the Oak Run Golf Course as well as traveling with Doug playing many different courses throughout the years. Betty was immensely talented with the sewing machine and was an avid bowler.

Cremation will be accorded. No services are planned. Arrangements have been entrusted to Watson Thomas Funeral Home and Crematory, Galesburg.
