Blanche C. Freiburg

Blanche C. Freiburg, 92, of Quincy formerly of 578 Matthews St., Galesburg, died at 5:01 p.m. on October 20, 2006 at Bickford Cottages, Quincy.    Blanche was born on October 19, 1914 in St. Charles, MO the daughter of Fred and Blanche Geisert Ueberle.  She married Eugene Freiburg on July 3, 1943 in Quincy.  He died on January 1, 1973.   Surviving are several nieces and nephews including Tony (Paulette) Freiburg of Quincy whom cared for Blanche.  She was preceded in death by 3 brothers and 1 sister.  Blanche worked as the sewing room supervisor for the Galesburg Mental Health Center for 40 years, before her retirement.  She was a member of Corpus Christi Catholic Church its Altar and Rosary Society and Our Lady’s rosary makers.  She was also a member of the Illinois State Employee Association.   Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11 a.m. on Friday, October 27, 2006 at her church. Burial will be in St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Galesburg.  Visitation will be from 9:30 – 10:30 a.m. on Friday, October 27, 2006 at Watson Funeral Home, Galesburg.  Memorials may be made to the church.
