Bobby Hamilton, Sr., 81, of Galesburg, died Tuesday morning, February 1, 2022 at home. Bobby was born on November 2, 1940 in Russellville, Alabama, the son of James E. and Armentia C. (Robinson) Pierce. After graduating from Galesburg High School in 1959, he served in the United States Air Force from 1961 to 1965. Bobby then worked at Caterpillar and later was an Independent Contractor that specialized in roofing for over 20 years. He was an avid fisherman and also enjoyed playing pool. Bobby is survived by six sons: Troy (Yolanda) Taylor-Hamilton, Curtis (Audrey) Kimbrough, Kevin Hamilton, Bobby (Tonette) Hamilton, Jr., all of California, Anthony (Shelby) Hamilton of Oklahoma, and Cidny Hamilton of Iowa. Also surviving is a step-son, John (Kristy) Britton of Rock Island, Illinois; a step-daughter, DéPrince (Dustin) Cardenas of Galesburg; thirteen grandchildren; five step-grandchildren; one great-grandchild; one brother, William (Lois) Hamilton of Washington, Illinois; two sisters: Ida Howard of Shaker Heights, Ohio, and Louise Wilder of Galesburg. He was preceded in death by his parents; one daughter, Teneshia Hamilton; one step-son, Marcus Brown; and one brother, James Hamilton. Cremation will be accorded. A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, May 6, 2022 at East Linwood Cemetery, Galesburg. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Red Cross. Arrangements have been entrusted to Watson Thomas Funeral Home and Crematory, Galesburg.
