Carl Purnell

Carl Purnell, 70, passed away Oct. 5, 2021 surrounded by his friends at Trulson House.  He was born on May 18, 1951 to Robert and Sadie Purnell.  Carl leaves behind his brothers and sisters at Trulson as well as many beloved staff from KCCDD and Trulson who were privileged to share many life experiences with him.  Carl was a fun loving, adventurous person who loved roller coasters, children, and sweets of all kinds.  Carl was an excellent athlete and earned many special Olympic medals. A gentle, kind man, Carl was always helpful and will be remembered most for his infectious laugh. A celebration of life will be held on the patio of Trulson House on Friday, Oct. 8 at 1pm.  Arrangements have been entrusted to Watson Thomas Funeral Home and Crematory, Galesburg.
