Carol Ann Harris, 80, of Knoxville, Illinois, died at 3:27 p.m. Saturday, February 15, 2025 at OSF St. Mary Medical Center, Galesburg, Illinois.


Carol was born October 7, 1944 in Galesburg, the daughter of Harold O. and Evelyn D. (Liniger) Lindbom. Carol graduated from Knoxville High School in 1962. On May 16, 1964, Carol married James Patrick Harris at Corpus Christi Catholic Church in Galesburg.


Carol is survived by her husband of 60 years, Jim of Knoxville; their two sons, Vince Harris and Ryan Harris both of Knoxville; and three granddaughters, Gabriel Harris, Rosalind Flater, and Emmy Lou Harris. Along with her parents and one brother, Eugene Lindbom.

In her younger years, Carol worked at Admiral/Maytag, after her children were born, she stayed at home to raise them. In her later years, Carol returned to work at Mable Woolsey School in Knoxville, until she retired in 2005.


A devout member of Corpus Christi Catholic Church, Carol served as a Eucharistic Minister, volunteered with St. Vincent DePaul Society, and was a longtime member of Knox County Right to Life. She also served as coordinator for S.H.A.R.E. Carol volunteered many hours of her time as an active member of OSF St. Mary Auxiliary. In her free time she enjoyed bowling, knitting, and cake decorating.


Visitation will be 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Thursday, February 20, 2025 at Watson Thomas Funeral Home and Crematory, Galesburg with the rosary being prayed at 7:00 p.m. Funeral Mass for Carol will be 10:00 a.m. Friday, February 21, 2025 at Corpus Christi Catholic Church, Galesburg. Private family burial will be at a later date at St. Joseph Cemetery, Galesburg. Memorial contributions may be directed to Knox County Right to Life or to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
