Carol Ann Kenan, 82, of Galesburg, died at home Sunday, May 23, 2021 at 3:09 p.m. Carol was born March 19, 1939 in Galesburg, the daughter of Patrick and Garnet (Babbit) Hagan.  She married Richard Lee Kenan on January 12, 1955 in Burlington, IA.  Dick preceded her in death on August 18, 2015.  Carol is survived by one son, Rick (Diana) Kenan of Galesburg; two daughters, Deborah (Kerry) Swanson of Wake Forest, NC and Patricia Kenan of Galesburg; and a son in law, Brent McNall of Aledo.  Carol is also survived by her beloved grandchildren, Emilie (Clint) Michael, Jessica (Scott) Wotring, Andrew (Jessica) Swanson, Kole Kenan, Madeline (Will Peterson) Kenan, Ian (Crystal) Johnson, and Lindsey (William) Hurley; and ten great grandchildren.  Along with her parents and husband, Carol was preceded in death by a daughter, Rebecca McNall; two brothers, Ron and Virgil Hagan; and one sister, Doris Herrin. After attending Corpus Christi High School, Carol graduated from Lutheran Nursing School in 1985.  She went on to a long career in nursing, working for OSF for a few years.  Most of her career was spent as a Pediatric Nurse at Cottage Hospital, working for Dr.’s Kesavan, Paralikar, and Peppers.  Carol and Dick enjoyed many years traveling the US in their RV and enjoyed many trips with their grandchildren.  Carol loved cars and in her younger years, drove drag cars, later spending time at the race-track with Dick and their son, Rick.  She was an avid gardener, enjoyed sewing and cooking.  She was also an accomplished artist.  Through the years she owned several German Shepherds and leaves behind her beloved dog, Nick.  Carol was a member of Corpus Christi Catholic Church.The family would like to thank Father Lee Brokaw, Transitions Hospice Care, Randy, John, Kelly, and the rest of the staff, Linda Stowe and Mary Anderson, for their great care and support.   Cremation will be accorded.  No services are planned.  Private burial of cremated remains will be at a later date.   Arrangements have been entrusted to Watson Thomas Funeral Home and Crematory, Galesburg.  Memorials may be made to the Knox County Humane Society or to the Michael J. Fox Foundation.
