Charles "Chuck" W. Wallar

Charles Warden Wallar, Sr., 83, of Galesburg, died at 10:41 a.m. Friday, December 13, 2019 at home. Chuck was born November 15, 1936 in Joplin, MO the son of Orville Winfield and Winona Loretta (Warden) Wallar.  Chuck served in the US Navy.  He worked as a branch manager for IBM for 32 years, retiring in 1990.  Chuck enjoyed fishing.  He was a talented carpenter and woodworker, working on many houses with his son Chip. Chuck is survived by one son, Charles “Chip” Wallar, Jr. of Galesburg; three daughters, Barbara Wren of Columbia, MO, Wendy Russell of Springfield, MO, and Robin Woodall of Athens, GA; one brother, Orville Winfield Wallar, Jr. of Springfield, MO; four grandchildren and two great grandchildren.  Chuck was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife, Joan Dorothy Jacobsen Wallar; and one brother, Mike D. Wallar. Cremation rights have been accorded.  No services are planned.  Arrangements have been entrusted to Watson Thomas Funeral Home and Crematory, Galesburg.
