Christine M. Thurman

Christine M. Thurman, 77, of Galesburg, died at 10:23 a.m. Sunday, March 30, 2014 at Marigold Health Care and Rehab, Galesburg. Christine was born December 5, 1936 in Galesburg, the daughter of William L. and Mary (Onderko) Horaney.  She married Carl Thurman on April 27, 1974 in Galesburg.  He preceded her in death on October 15, 1988.  Christine is survived by two brothers, William (Millie) Horaney and Thomas (Pat Watson) Horaney both of Galesburg; and numerous nieces and nephews.  Including her husband, Christine was preceded in death by 5 brothers, George, Robert, Walter, Lawrence, and James. Christine was a bank teller in Galesburg for many years and then went to work at R&B Distributors where she worked for many years and eventually retired.  Christine was a member of Corpus Christi Catholic Church.  She enjoyed playing golf and reading in her free time.  But what she truly enjoyed was spending time and being with her family. Funeral services for Christine will be 3 p.m. Thursday, April 3, 2014 at Watson-Thomas Funeral Home and Crematory, Galesburg.  Visitation will be one hour prior to the services at the funeral home.  Burial will follow in St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Galesburg.  Memorial contributions may be made to Susan G. Komen Foundation or to the American Heart Association.
