Clinton James “CJ” Hall, 33, of Alexis, Illinois died peacefully surrounded by his loving family and pets on Wednesday, January 25, 2023 at home after a valiant and courageous battle with cancer.
CJ was born on October 22, 1989 in Covina, California the son of Daniel and Melody T. (Haynes) Hall. He graduated from United High School in 2008. He worked delivering the Galesburg Register Mail from a young age until he graduated high school. CJ also worked for Pizza Hut in Monmouth and the Knox County Nursing Home where he enjoyed being among the residents and staff. He has worked for the past several years as an extruder at Midwest Pet Foods in Monmouth, Illinois.
CJ loved spending time with his reptiles, dogs, and mostly his son, Malachi. He enjoyed building models, drawing or reading when he had to be indoors. Outside he loved bike rides and RC racing with his son.
Surviving him is his son, Malachi Hall of Galesburg; his parents, Dan and Melody Hall of Alexis, Illinois; a brother, Rick (Elania Hernandez) Welton of Clinton, Iowa; aunts and uncles, Jim (Sheila) McNalley, Ward (Jeanie) Haynes of Milan, Illinois, Tim (Debi) Johnson of Knoxville, Illinois, Howard (Sue) Haynes of Muscatine, Iowa, Roger (Mary) Haynes of Rock Island, Racelle Haynes of Fruitland; Dawn Wiggins of Waco, Texas. Great Aunt Gean Creek of Alexis; nephew, Niko Hernandez; and Niece, Jaylynn Hernandez. He was preceded in death by his maternal and paternal grandparents; uncles, John Haynes and Tom Haynes.
Visitation will be 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Saturday, February 4, 2023 at Watson Thomas Funeral Home and Crematory, Galesburg with funeral services following at 12:30 p.m. CJ’s aunt, Debi Johnson will officiate. Cremation will be accorded following services. Private burial will be at a later date at Mt. Vernon Cemetery, North Henderson, Illinois. A celebration of life will be Saturday, June 17, 2023 starting at 12:00 p.m. at Alexis Park, Alexis, Illinois. Memorial contributions may be made to the family for his son, Malachi.
