Clinton L. "Dick" Zost

Clinton L. “Dick” Zost, Age 86, of Galesburg, Illinois passed away on December 5, 2020 at Heartland of Moline. He was born February 6, 1934 in Big Springs, NE.  On April 23, 1955 he married Leanne Peake in Abingdon, IL. Clinton worked as an electrician for the Burlington Northern Railroad for 45 years. Railroading was his passion. He was instrumental in bringing the rail museum to Galesburg and served on the Board of Directors. He is survived by his wife, Leanne and his six children:  Mike Zost; Terry (Denise) Zost; Chris Zost; Connie (Mark) Parent; Peggy (David) Huff; Julie (Scott) Zierden; and his sisters Suzie McKinley, Charlotte Tachoir, Judy Birldebough.He was the grandfather of ten grandchildren: David Huff, Jr., Meghan Huff, Zachary Huff, Joseph Parent, Katie Parent, Jack Parent, Seth Zost, Mary Zost, Matt Zierden, and Nick Zierden. Amelia Parent is his first great-grandchild. Visitation will be 10 to 11 a.m. Thursday, December 10, 2020 at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church, Galesburg.  Funeral Mass will follow at 11 a.m.  Father Lee Brokaw will officiate.  Due to the COVID-19 Pandemic, face masks, social distancing, and limited occupancy will be enforced.  Burial will be in Abingdon Cemetery, Abingdon.  Those not able to attend services may watch a live stream at https://www.facebook.com/WatsonThomasFH .  Arrangements have been entrusted to Watson Thomas Funeral Home and Crematory, Galesburg.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.
