Colette Mccarey

Colette McCarey, 82, of 859 E. Losey St., Galesburg, died at 5:30 a.m. on Monday, July 27, 2009 at home.   Colette was born on July 17, 1927 in Canton, the daughter of Al and Catherine King Royer.  She married John R. McCarey in 1948.  He preceded her in death in 2002.  Surviving Colette is 5 sons, John (Janet) of Galesburg, Mike (Chris) of Tinley Park, Patrick (Linda) of Homer Glenn, Kevin (Debbie) of Oak Park, and Tom (Nicole) of Edgewater; 2 daughters, Katie (John) Szabo of River Dale, and Maggie (Jim) Thielen of Wonder Lake; one brother, Tom Royer of Champaign; and 2 sisters, Margaret Stawick of Indianapolis, IN, and Rita Swindall of Pullman, WA.  Also surviving is 14 grandchidren.  She was preceded in death by 4 brothers and one sister.   Colette worked many years through John Royer and Co. retiring in 1990.  She was of the catholic faith.   Cremation rites will be accorded.  A memorial mass will be held at a later date at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Champaign, with Rev. Tom Royer officiating.  Watson Funeral Home, Galesburg is in charge of arrangements.
