The Thibodeaux and Winter families are saddened to report the death of their beloved daughter, mother, sister, grandmother, Crislyn Diane Thibodeaux Winter, who died Wednesday, July 18, 2012, surrounded by her loving family. For the past 5 years Crislyn fought a long, courageous battle against colorectal cancer. Crislyn was born on April 5, 1952 in Rock Island, IL to Joseph and Betty Lou (Harden) Thibodeaux. Crislyn graduated from Galesburg High School in 1970 and attended Carl Sandburg College. She married Paul Winter on September 5, 1973, and gave birth to their only child, Aaron Michael Winter on September 23, 1975. Crislyn worked at Maytag for several years until the plant was relocated to Mexico. She then worked for Dr. John Mc Clean until her declining health caused her to retire in 2012. Crislyn was preceded in death by her father, husband, grandson Paul and her beloved dog Spike. She will forever live on through her mother, Betty Thibodeaux of Davenport, IA, son Aaron (Ami Keller) of Galesburg, grandchildren Elizabeth (Lilly), Wyatt, Mercedes and Max , all of Galesburg, her sisters Cindy (Jeff) Mannen Moline, IL, Jo Ellen (Terry) Hepner, and Sherri (Jim) Jabanoski both of Fountain Hills, AZ, nephews, Terry and Dustin Hepner, Joseph Thibodeaux, Joshua Mannen, Bryce Jabanoski , niece Brandi (Jabanoski) Medinger, and a very special cousin Connie Harden- Moore, Moline, IL. A celebration of Crislyn’s life will be held on Monday, July 23, 2012 from 5 to 8 p.m. at Watson Funeral Home. Funeral services will be 2:30p.m. Tuesday, July 24, 2012 at Watson Funeral Home. Rev. William T. Miller, I.C. will officiate. Private family burial will follow in St. Joseph’s Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Knox County Humane Society.
