Daniel J. Murray

Daniel Joseph Murray, 61, of Chicago, Illinois, died Sunday, May 3 in Chicago.  He was born on Sept. 14, 1947 in DePere, Wisconsin the son of Francis J. and Elizabeth M. Michela Murray. Dan graduated from Knox College, Galesburg, IL and received his MBA from the University of Minnesota. He worked in higher education administration. During his career he had been an admissions counselor for Knox College; and for several years he was Director of Financial Aid at Hamline University in St. Paul, MN. He was Director of Admissions at Boston University and most recently had been the Executive Director of the Midwestern Regional Office of the College Board. Dan is survived by his brothers, Frank (Linda) Murray, Yakima, WA, John Murray, Mauston, WI, and Michael (Sue) Murray, Waunakee, WI; and a sister, Kathleen Larson, Galesburg, IL. Also surviving are his nieces and nephews to whom he was very close. He was preceded in death by his parents There will be a commital service at All Saints Cemetery in Kenosha, WI on Friday, May 22at 11 a.m. Memorials may be made to Knox College, Galesburg, IL.
