Daniel P. Nolan, Jr., 72, of 1456 Knox Rd 2400 N Oneida, died at 4:15 p.m on Wednesday, May 16, 2007 at Cottage Hospital. Daniel was born on May 21, 1934 in Galesburg, the son of Daniel P. and Helena Cofield Nolan, Sr.. He married Judith Harlin on February 13, 1964 in Galesburg. Surviving Daniel are his wife Judy of Oneida; 2 sons: Dan (Laura) of Kewanee and Stephen (Sonrisa) of Altona; one brother John (Janet) of Lombard; 3 sisters: Sister Lucy Nolan of Sauk Village, Sister Carol Nolan of Indio, CA, and Sister Nancy Nolan of Chicago; and 5 grandchildren. Preceding him in death were his parents and one grandson. Daniel graduated from Corpus Christi High School in 1952. He served in the US Army in Korea from 1956 to 1958. He worked for OMC Gale Products, then Danner’s Bakery, and last worked for 10 years as a security guard at Butler’s Mfg. until his retirement in 1999. He was a member of the Oneida Lion’s Club, Father J.O. Hunt Council 556 Knights of Columbus, 4th degree, and was a member of St. John’s Catholic Church in Galva. Mass of Christian burial will be at 10 a.m. on Saturday May 19, 2007 at St. John’s Church, Galva, with the Rev. John Burns, officiating. Visitation will be Friday, May 18, from 4:30 – 7:30 p.m at Watson Funeral Home, with a prayer service at 7:30 p.m. Burial will be in St. Joseph’s Cemetery. Memorials may be made to St. John’s Church, Kewanee Schools Foundation, or ROWVA Schools Foundation.
