Danny Clifford Stevens, 67, of Gilson, died Thursday, June 23, 2022 at OSF St. Mary Medical Center, Galesburg, Illinois. Danny was born July 20, 1954 in Galesburg, the son of Daniel Harold and Juanita Alice (Garman) Stevens. Danny married Joyce Ann Johnson on May 29, 1999 in Galesburg, Illinois. She survives of Gilson. Danny is also survived by three daughters, Emily Johnson of Gilson, Ashley (Phil) Wellenkamp, Illinois, Tressa (fiancé, Travis Clayton) Johnson of Abingdon; and two grandchildren, Kelly Clayton and Ivan Clayton. Danny is also survived by one sister, Lori (Bill) Heiman of Galesburg; three brothers, Fred (Kay) Stevens, Ed (Mary Lydic) Stevens, and David (Cathy) Stevens all of Galesburg; and numerous nieces and nephews. Danny was preceded in death by his parents. Danny served a short stint in the US Army, being honorably discharged with a medical condition. He was a member of Ralph M. Noble American Legion Post #285 and VFW Post 2257. Danny went on to work in construction and was a “jack of all trades, master of none.” He loved riding his motorcycle, playing darts, shooting pool, and bowling. Visitation will be 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. Wednesday, June 29, 2022 at Watson Thomas Funeral Home and Crematory, Galesburg. Funeral services will follow at 12 p.m. The family will have a luncheon following the funeral at the Thomas Legacy Center following the funeral. A celebration of life will follow starting at 6 p.m. at Harley’s Pub, 2243 Grand Ave, Galesburg, Illinois. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the family in care of Watson Thomas Funeral Home, 1849 N. Seminary St., Galesburg, Illinois 61401.
