David "Country" Peterson

David "Country" Peterson, 66, of Wataga, died at 4:15 a.m. Monday, April 8, 2019 at home. David was born April 29, 1952 in Galesburg.  He married Laurie Beth Snyder on December 31, 2018 at their home in Wataga.  Country is survived by his wife, Laurie; one son, Travis Peterson of Galesburg; one daughter, Tara Baumgardner of Castle Rock, CO; and his two grandchildren, Stella and Declan.  Country is also survived by one brother, John Peterson of Oskaloosa, IA; and two sisters, Laurie Peterson of North Carolina and Terri Carley of Tennessee.  Country owned and operated Country's Bar in Wataga for many years.  He also worked as a conductor on the railroad for many years.  A celebration of life/birthday party will be held for Country Saturday April 27, 2019 from 1 p.m. to close at Motzee's Bar in Wataga.  Arrangements have been entrusted to Watson Thomas Funeral Home and Crematory, Galesburg.  Memorials may be made to his wife Laurie Peterson to help offset expenses.
