David D. Collins

David D. Collins, 72, of Galesburg, died on Tuesday, February 28, 2017, 9:15 PM, at his home in Galesburg.David was born on June 6, 1944 in Montclaire, New Jersey. He was the son of David H. and Natalie J. Collins. He is survived by a brother, Roy J. Collins of Gaithersburg, MD; and two nephews, Joshua R. and Jonathan E. Collins. He was preceded in death by his parents; and an infant sister, Susan Jane Collins.David received Bachelors of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from Case Western Reserve University. He worked as an electrical engineer and computer programmer at Digilog until his retirement. He loved the trains, and was a true "rail fan."  Per David's wishes, cremation rites have been accorded. No local services are planned at this time. Burial of cremated remains will be held at the family plot in New Jersey. Arrangements have been entrusted to Watson-Thomas Funeral Home and Crematory, Galesburg. Memorials in David's honor may be donated to the Galesburg Rail Road Museum.
