Debra A. Mccawley

Debra A. McCawley, 53 of Elmwood, died at 6:53 p.m. Tuesday, March 25, 2014 in rural Knox County. Deb was born May 29, 1960 in Council Bluffs, IA, the daughter of Gene L. and Shirley E. (Eifert) Kennedy.  She married Michael E. McCawley on November 14, 1980 in Peoria.  He preceded her in death on November 12, 2005. Deb is survived by her parents Gene and Shirley of Elmwood; and a daughter, Dawn Lynn McCawley of Port Angeles, WA.  Deb was preceded in death by her husband, Michael; and three brothers, Michael, Joseph, and Glenn. Deb worked as a police officer and a prison guard in Washington for 14 years prior to moving back to Elmwood in 2005.  Since she has moved by, Deb has been employed at Casey's General Store in Elmwood.  Deb enjoyed working on and tracking her family's geneology. Cremation rites have been accorded and no services are planned at this time.  Watson-Thomas Funeral Home and Crematory, Galesburg, have been entrusted with arrangements.  Memorials may be made to a charity of the donor's choice.
