Debra L. Riley

View a Video Memorial Debra L. Riley, 53, of Galesburg, died at 6:53 p.m. Saturday, October 6, 2012 at OSF St. Mary Medical Center, after a courageous battle with cancer. Deb was born on March 28, 1959 in Rockford, the daughter of Gary and Judy (Cline) Marti.  She married Tony Riley on June 26, 1993 in Galesburg.  Deb is survived by her husband Tony of Galesburg; her father, Gary (and Donna) Mart of Taylor Ridge; and two sons, Zach who is currently enrolled at the University of Alabama and Caleb at home.  She is also survived by two brothers, Jim (and Vicky) Marti of Killen, AL and Danny Marti of Fort Lauderdale, FL; and two sisters, Jenny (and Joe) Arnold and Angela Anderson both of Davenport, IA.  She was preceded in death by her mother, Judy. Deb loved being with her family and could always been seen cheering on her boys sports teams.  She was a member of Corpus Christi Catholic Church and the Galesburg Woman’s Club.  Deb worked as a correctional officer at Henry C. Hill Correctional Center since it opened.  She was a member of Women in Corrections and AFSCME.  Funeral Mass for Deb will be 10 a.m. Wednesday, October 10, 2012 at Corpus Christi Catholic Church.  Rev. William T. Miller, IC will officiate.  Burial will follow in St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Galesburg.  Visitation will be Tuesday October 9, 2012 at Watson-Thomas Funeral Home from 1-3 p.m. and 6-8 p.m.  The rosary will be prayed at 5 p.m.  The family requests memorial contributions be made to Costa Catholic Academy.
