Denise L. Motz

Denise Lynn Motz, 63, of Galesburg, Illinois, died unexpectedly at 7:23 a.m. on January 5, 2025 in the emergency room at OSF St. Mary Medical Center, Galesburg.

Denise was born on May 13, 1961 in Galesburg, the daughter of Thomas E. and Betty J. (Whaley) Camper, Sr. Denise is survived by her parents Thomas and Betty of East Galesburg; two brothers, Bill (Terry) Camper and Thomas Camper, Jr. both of Galesburg; and one sister, Ginny Glay of Knoxville, Illinois. She was preceded in death by her son, T.J. Motz.

Denise worked for a time as a physical therapy assistant. A job she enjoyed very much. She served for a time in the US Navy. Denise had a big heart and a soft spot for all animals and loved them dearly. She thoroughly enjoyed being around people and taking care of them any way she was able. Denise enjoyed spending time outdoors gardening, both vegetables and flowers. Her talents extended to her ability to crochet.

Private family services will be held. Cremation will be accorded. Arrangements have been entrusted to Watson Thomas Funeral Home and Crematory, Galesburg. Memorials contributions may be made in Denise’s memory to the Knox County Humane Society.
