Dewey Bud Lytle

Dewey L. “Bud” Lytle, 73, of Galesburg, died Saturday April 14, 2012 at OSF St. Francis Medical Center, Peoria. Bud was born June 23, 1938 in Peru, IN the son of Vernon P. and Flossie (Spencer) Lytle.  Bud is survived by 2 daughters, Sheri Haag and Jennifer Huff, both of McHenry; a son, David of Joliet; 2 sisters, Anna Johns and Verna Cook both of Peru, IN; and 10 grandchildren. Bud graduated from Mount Sinai School of Radiography and received his MBA from Lake Forest Graduate School of Management.  He was a Registered Radiographer at Cottage Hospital for many years.  Bud was a member of Corpus Christi Catholic Church and the Father J.O. Hunt Knights of Columbus Council 556, 3rd and 4th degrees.  He was past president of Illinois State Society of Radiologic Technologists.  He served on the Board of Directors of the American Society of Radiologic Technologists, and was on the Board of Trustees of American Society of Radiologic Technologists Education and Research Foundation.  He was also a member of the American Healthcare Radiology Administrators.  Bud also enjoyed traveling, reading, and gourmet cooking. Per his wishes cremation rites have been accorded.  A celebration of life will be held 1-4 p.m. Sunday, May 6, 2012 at the Knights of Columbus, Galesburg.  Memorials may be made to the family.  Cremation rites have been entrusted to Watson Funeral Home, Galesburg.
