Diane L. Carlson

Diane Lynn Carlson, 70, Galesburg, Illinois, died at home Saturday, February 24, 2024 at 5:13 a.m.

Diane was born October 8, 1953 in Galesburg, Illinois, the daughter of Glenn Emil and Louise Ruth (Dixon) Carlson. She graduated from Galesburg High School and attended Carl Sandburg College. Diane worked many different jobs throughout her life from delivering newspapers to driving a cab.

She was an active member at O.A.K.S. in Galesburg and enjoyed making crafts and was especially talented in crocheting. Diane will be remembered for her generous heart and the way she cared for helped others.

Diane is survived by her son, Eric D. Carlson of Galesburg; three brothers, Richard (Sandra) Carlson of Bradenton, Florida, Robert (Vicky) Carlson of Rio, Illinois and Roger Carlson of Rio, Illinois; and one sister, Doris (Terry) Holmes of Schofield, Wisconsin. Diane was preceded in death by her parents and a niece, Jil Petrie and a nephew, Scott Holmes.

Visitation will be 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Thursday, February 29, 2024 at Watson Thomas Funeral Home, Galesburg, Illinois. Funeral services will follow 10:30 a.m. Friday at the funeral home. Burial will be at Oak Lawn Memorial Gardens, Galesburg. Memorial contributions may be directed the Hope House and Galesburg Downtown Depot.
