Donald Yelm

Donald Yelm, age 74, of 1776 Brown Avenue, Galesburg, died at 6:30 a.m. on Friday, May 26, 2006 at his residence.   He was born April 2, 1932 in Galesburg, to Milton and Ellen Carlson Yelm.  He married Iris Richardson on April 23, 1976 in Galesburg.   Surviving is his wife of Galesburg, three sons:  Mike Wall of East Moline, Andy Wall of Enid, Oklahoma and Chris Wall of East Galesburg; two daughters, Karen Shawn Jones of Enid, Oklahoma and Stacie Smith of Oquawka, one brother, Milton Yelm of Galesburg, 8 grandchildren, including Josh Wall, whom they raised and 2 great-grandchildren.  He was preceded in death by one brother.   Mr. Yelm graduated from Galesburg High School and was self-employed as a contractor for over 40 years.  He was a past member of the Carpenter’s Union.   Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Watson Funeral Home with the Reverend Don Reynolds officiating.  Visitation will be one hour prior to the services at the funeral home.  Cremation rites will be accorded after the services.  Memorials may be made to the American Lung Association.
