Dorothy Cecilia O’Brien Krupps, 88, of Galesburg Illinois, died at 7:45 p.m. on July 5, 2011 at Rosewood Care Center. Dorothy was born July 8, 1922 in Galesburg, the daughter of John L. and Ella (Sheridan) O’Brien. Dorothy lived in the Galesburg area her entire life. She graduated from St. Joseph’s Academy in 1941. While working at Meadow Gold Dairy in 1946 she met the love of her life William Krupps. Dorothy and Bill were married on May 29, 1948 in Galesburg. She enjoyed spending all of her time with her loving family, and is very well known for putting others first. Dorothy was a member of Corpus Christi Catholic Church, Galesburg its Altar and Rosary Society, and St. Mary’s Hospital Auxiliary. Dorothy is survived by her loving husband, Bill of Galesburg. Together they are the loving parents of five children, two nieces, and one nephew; two sons, John (Linda) Krupps of St. Augustine, and Joseph (Gina) Krupps, Galesburg; three daughters, Dr. Barbara (William) Weaver, Chicago, Mary R. Krupps (deceased) and Carol (Doug) Wilson, Washington; two nieces, Susan (Bob) Mills, Muskegon, MI, Anne (Dan) Miller, Ely, IA, and one nephew, Andy Pitman, Galesburg. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Ben Miller, Jenny Peterson, Brandy Steele, Adam Downing, Billy Krupps, Matt Miller, Katy Feldt, Kendra Boone, Maggie Mills, Becca Barth, and Rachael Dierickx; twelve great-grandchildren with another to arrive any day; two sisters-in-law, Marge Garrison, Galesburg and Roberta O’Brien, Davenport, IA. She is preceded in death by her parents, six sisters, and two brothers Funeral Mass will be 9:30 a.m. Saturday, July 9, 2011, at Corpus Christi Catholic Church, Galesburg, Illinois, with Father William Miller officiating. Burial will follow in St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Galesburg. Visitation will be held Friday, July 8, 2011 from 5-7:30 pm at Watson Funeral Home, with the rosary being prayed at 7:30 p.m. Memorials can be made to Gordon Behrent’s Senior Center or St. Vincent De Paul.
