Dorothy Lee “Dottie” (Fancher) Bushnell Bundren, 79, of Knoxville, Illinois died on Thursday, November 24, 2016 at the Knox County Nursing Home in Knoxville, Illinois. She was born on August 15, 1937 in Maquon, Illinois, the daughter of Leo and Maxine Burkhalter Fancher. Dorothy married Kenneth Bushnell in 1955. She later married Ellis Bundren in 1985 in Galesburg, Illinois. He preceded her in death on April 19, 2003. Dorothy is survived by her children; Kenny (Candy) Bushnell of Indiana, Becky (Gary) Barton of Galesburg, Illinois and Nick Bushnell of Peoria, Illinois, eight grandchildren, fifteen great-grandchildren, two siblings; JoRae (Gary) Runge of Galesburg, Illinois and Nick Fancher of Florida. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husbands. Dorothy worked for Maytag in Galesburg as a janitor for more than 35 years. She was always there for her children and family. She loved sharing a cup of coffee and a cigarette with a friend. She loved animals, challenging crossword puzzles, painting, being on the computer, watching sports, and drives in the country. Cremation rites will be accorded. A celebration of life will be 1 to 4 p.m. Sunday, October 1, 2017 at the Thomas Legacy Center at Watson-Thomas Funeral Home and Crematory, Galesburg. Memorials may be made to the Knox County Nursing Home or the Alzheimer’s Association.
