Dorothy Duane Brandenberg, 88, entered immortality at 5:35 p.m. Tuesday, April 11, 2006, in Decatur, TX.Mass of Christian Burial: 10 a.m.Friday, April 21, at Immaculate Heart of Mary Church in Galesburg, Ill. Burial: St. Joseph’s Cemetery. Visitation: 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday, April 20, at Watson’s Funeral Home in Galesburg, with rosary at 7. Duane was born July 9, 1917, near Galesburg, Ill., to Will and Ella Shea. Duane and her husband, Chas, an employee of Sinclair Pipeline Co., moved to Texas in 1953. Duane resided in Jacksboro, Olney and Graham, TX. While in Graham, she was the city secretary for the Ladies Bowling Association. An avid bowler, Duane traveled to many state and national bowling tournaments. She had resided in Runaway Bay, TX since May 1988. She was a member of the Ladies Golf Association and St. John’s Catholic Church in Bridgeport, TX. She was preceded in death by her husband of 31 years, Charles, in 1970; daughter, Joanne Anderson; parents, Will and Ella; brothers, William, Patrick, James and Richard Shea; and sister, Roselyn Behringer. Survivors: Daughter, Barbara Blake and husband, George, of Runaway Bay, TX; son, Charles Brandenberg and wife, Pamela, of Benbrook, TX; grandchildren, Lori Brown and husband, Charles, Dianne Hearne and husband, Powell, Terri Grona and Luke and Jill Brandenberg; great-grand -children, Megan and Kyler Brown, Haley, Weston and Delaney Hearne and Colton and Courtney Grona; sisters, Beatrice Samuelson, Kathryn Lee, Arlene Winbigler and Helen Pendergast; and numerous nieces and nephews.
