Dorothy J. Bartlett

Dorothy J. Bartlett, 81, of 341 Ohio Ave, Galesburg, died at 11:40 a.m. on Sunday January 14, 2007 at home.   Dorothy was born on November 21, 1925 in Burgess, Illinois the daughter of Thurlow L. and Josie E. Dorothy Morford.  She married Herbert E. Bartlett in February of 1945 in Galesburg.  He died in 1966.  Surviving Dorothy are: one son Rodney J. Bartlett of Deland, FL; one daughter Ellen (Keith) Hammons of Grapevine, TX; one sister Mary A McKenzie of Galesburg; 3 granddaughters and 3 great grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by 1 sister and 1 brother.   Dorothy was a payroll supervisor at Galesburg Mental Health for several years until 1983.  She then was a payroll supervisor at Henry C. Hill Correctional Center from 1985 until 1990.  She was a member of Faith United Methodist Church for over 50 years.   Cremation rites have been accorded.  Memorial services will be at 11 a.m. on Friday January 19, 2007 at Faith United Methodist Church, with the Reverend Paul Newhall officiating.  Burial of ashes will be in Memorial Park Cemetery.  Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association.
