Dottie L. Lovell, 86, of Galesburg, died at 8:17 a.m. Wednesday, April 21, 2021 at OSF St. Mary Medical Center, Galesburg. Dottie was born December 22, 1934 in Galesburg the daughter of George M. and Norma L. (Cutshaw) Tuthill.  She married Charles Selfridge on June 9, 1954 in Galesburg.  Together they had three daughters, Vonna, Gay, and Cheri.  Dottie later married Park L. Lovell on July 1, 1995 in Galesburg.  He preceded her in death.  Dottie is survived by her three daughters, Vonna (David) Marshall of Wataga, Gay Lazzari of Galesburg, and Cheri Hatfield of Galesburg; seven grandchildren, David (Kerri) Marshall, Stephanie (Scott) Cordle, Rick Kenney, Jesse (Jessica) Otley, Chuck Blake, Christina (Bart) Dilley, and Colton Peed; fourteen great grandchildren; her loving partner and friend of many years, James Harrison; and her precious dog, Gabe.  Dottie is also survived by one brother, Mike (Karen) Tuthill of Knoxville; one sister, Carol (Bud) Webber of Knoxville; several nieces, nephews, and cousins.  She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, and two sisters, Bonnie Hahn and Mary Jo Miller. Dottie worked with Lolita Junk for many years for Knox County Teen Court. She encountered many kids through the years and they all loved her.  She also worked for Lutheran Social Services and CAC of Galesburg.  Dottie was a member of Four-Square Gospel Church and the order of the Eastern Star.  She was an active member of the Patriot Guard Riders and rode her beloved Harley Davidson on many welcome home missions.  Dottie also rode her Harley in many parades, usually her side car was occupied by her friends, family, or dog. She raised homing pigeons for many years, a hobby she enjoyed until recently.  Dottie collected angels and at last count had over 700.  She attended many Relay for Life events as she was a 65-year cancer survivor.  She was loved and known for her hugs by many people who will cherish and remember her for her loving ways for the rest of their lives.  Dottie loved to dance, sing, and ride her motorcycle.  She loved to play games especially pool, pitch, and marbles.  Dottie enjoyed listening to her favorite music, mainly Gene Watson, who she listened to daily even during her hospital stays.  Visitation will be 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Monday, April 26, 2021 at Watson Thomas Funeral Home and Crematory, Galesburg.  Funeral services will follow at 1 p.m. Due to COVID-19 restrictions, face masks, limited occupancy, and social distancing will be enforced.  Burial will follow at East Linwood Cemetery, Galesburg.  Memorials may be made to Relay for Life.
