Earl F. Boone

Earl F. Boone, 91, of Galesburg, died at 11:25 a.m. Monday, May 23, 2022 at OSF St. Francis Medical Center, Peoria, Illinois. Earl was born July 8, 1930 in New Haven, Kentucky, the son of Raymond and Julia (Masterson) Boone. He joined the US Army on January 7, 1953 and married Marjorie Noraann Crouse on April 3, 1953 in Galesburg, Illinois. He was honorably discharged on January 6, 1955. Earl worked for several years as a freight handler at the CB&Q Railroad, later working for OMC Gale Products, and retired from NAEIR. Earl enjoyed hunting, dogs, and gardening. He was an avid St. Louis Cardinals and Notre Dame fan. Earl is survived by three sons, Arthur (Connie) Boone of Wataga, Illinois, Kevin Boone of Galesburg, Illinois, and Richard Boone of Rock Island, Illinois; one daughter, Kathlyn Boone of Galesburg, Illinois; twelve grandchildren; and twelve greatgrandchildren. He is also survived by one brother Leroy Boone of Galesburg, Illinois; and one sister, Louise Brady of Louisville, Kentucky. Earl was preceded in death by his wife Marjorie on May 29, 1992; his parents; two brothers; and two sisters. Cremation has been accorded. Graveside services will be 11 a.m. Friday, June 3, 2022 at Oak Lawn Memorial Gardens, Galesburg, Illinois. Deacon Michael Crummer will officiate. Arrangements have been entrusted to Watson Thomas Funeral Home and Crematory, Galesburg, Illinois. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
