Edward Donald Spencer, 80, of Galesburg, died at 4:23 a.m. Thursday, October 26, 2018 at Marigold Health Care and Rehab, Galesburg. Don was born April 25, 1938 in Taylorville the son of Willis and Ruth I. (Rigsby) Spencer. Don married Brenda Lynn Hendricks on September 14, 2013 in Galesburg. Don is survived by his wife Brenda of Galesburg; two sons, Harry Spencer of Africa and Cecil Spencer of Montana; and one daughter, Buffy Sandey of Galesburg. Don is also survived by two sisters, Diane Mears of Decatur and Rachel Majer of Flanagan. Don worked at Abingdon Pottery for many years. He served in the United States Air Force and was a member of Colonial Baptist Church and the AMVETS.Cremation rites have been accorded. A memorial service will be 10 a.m. Thursday, November 1, 2019 at Marigold Health Care and Rehab, 275 E. Carl Sandburg Dr., Galesburg. Pastor Darrell Grimm will officiate. Private burial will be in the Grace Anglican Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Cremation Assistance Foundation.
