Edward L. Perry

Edward L. Perry, 77, formerly of Lomita, CA, passed away at his home in Galesburg on Wednesday, October 19, 2016. Ed was born January 2, 1939 in Needmore, WV the son of William W. and Virginia L. Showalter Perry, Sr. He is survived by one son, Edward Perry, Jr.; one brother, Bill Perry, Jr. of Galesburg; four sisters, Norma (Bill) Hoover of El Paso, TX, Georgia Grabbe of Galva, Betty (Larry) Clayes of Kewanee, and Nancy Jacobson of Galesburg. He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Jeanie Grabbe. Prior to moving to California, Ed worked several jobs in the Galesburg area. While living in California he owned and operated a trophy shop. Ed was also had his pilot’s license and worked as an instructor. Cremation rites will be accorded. A celebration of life will be held 2 to 4 p.m. Monday at the Thomas Legacy Center at Watson-Thomas Funeral Home and Crematory, Galesburg. Memorials may be made to the family. Private burial of cremated remains will be at Oak Lawn Memorial Gardens, Galesburg.
