Edwin W. Sampson

Edwin Wayne Sampson, 82, Galesburg, died at 2:02 p.m., Monday, February 23, at his home. He was born August 11, 1927 in Hermon, Illinois, the son of Wayne and Beulah Moore Sampson.  Edwin is survived by a son, James Edwin Sampson, Sheridan Wyoming, two daughters, Christine Rose of Billings, Montana and Carol Sue Valadez of Rock Falls, sister, Eileen Sampson Nutt of New Windsor and a half sister,  Rita Irene Taylor of Sheridan Wyoming, 10 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister, and two half sisters.  Edwin attended school in London Mills.  He lived in Galesburg for many years and worked at Gale products for over 35 years before retiring.  He was a member of the Masonic Lodge A.F.& A.M. and served in the US Navy during World War II.  Per his wishes, no services are planned and cremation rights have been accorded.  Memorials may be made to the Lung Cancer Association.
