Elizabeth "Betty" J. Karlovich

Elizabeth “Betty” J. Karlovich, 85, of Galesburg, died at 4:50 a.m. Monday, June 14, 2010 at Cottage Hospital, Galesburg. Betty was born on October 28, 1924 in Streator, the daughter of Michael and Mary Ann Chergovsky Andrick.  She married Laurance P. Karlovich on October 31, 1953 in Galesburg.  He preceded her in death in 1962.  She is survived by two daughters, Ann Marie Karlovich of Indianapolis, IN and Catherine Jean Karlovich of San Francisco, CA.  She is also survived by many nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews.  She was preceded in death by 5 sisters and one brother. She worked in the accounting department at OSF St. Mary Medical Center in Galesburg for over 25 years, retiring in 1990.  She was a member of Corpus Christi Catholic Church and was a member of the Altar and Rosary Society.  She was a volunteer for St. Mary’s Hospital Auxiliary and at the Galesburg Public Library.  Elizabeth enjoyed going to the riverboat with her “boating buddies.” Funeral Mass will be 10 a.m. Thursday, June 17, 2010 at Corpus Christi Catholic Church with Rev. William Miller, IC officiating.  Visitation will be 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Wednesday at Watson Funeral Home with the rosary being prayed at 5 p.m.  Burial will be in St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Canton, IL.  Memorials may be made to OSF St. Mary’s Medical Center or to the American Heart Association.
