Ellen Charline Parrigan

Ellen Charline Parrigan, 59, of Galesburg, died at 1:59 a.m., Monday, January 29, 2018 at Loyola University Hospital, Chicago. Ellen was born May 26, 1958 in Chicago, the daughter of Charles and Helen (Upton) Cauffman. She married Tony B. Parrigan on October 1, 1994 in Chicago. He preceded her in death on November 26, 2006. Ellen is survived by two sons, Matthew Parrigan of Peoria, and Tommy Burton of Galesburg; two daughters, Annie (Timothy) Yancey of Galesburg, and Mariah Smith of Monmouth; two brothers, Arthur (Audrey) Cartee and Victor Ellison, both of Galesburg; a sister, Angela Mendez of Galesburg; four grandchildren, Alison, Kyle, Aiden, and Emma; and her close friend, Bob “C.B.” Rosenbaum of Rock Island. Along with her husband, Ellen was preceded in death by her parents, and a brother, Maurice Cartee. Ellen owned and operated several rental properties. She loved to spend time with her family; travel to Disney; and ride her motorcycle. Ellen had an adventurous spirit and a huge heart. Ellen was loved by many and will be greatly missed. A visitation for Ellen will be held on Friday, February 2, 2018 from 5-7 p.m., at Watson-Thomas Funeral Home and Crematory. Cremation rites will be accorded following visitation. No funeral services are planned. Arrangements have been entrusted with Watson-Thomas Funeral Home and Crematory, Galesburg. Memorials in Ellen’s honor may be given to the family.
