Eric B. Ericson

Eric Bradley Ericson, 62, of Galesburg, died Friday, December 11, 2020 from injuries he sustained after being hit by a car.    Eric was born February 9, 1958 in Galesburg, the son of Phillip and Patricia (Mealman) Ericson.  He went to schools in Galesburg, Wataga, and Bushnell.  He married Gina Petrakis.  Eric is survived by daughters, Ashley Ericson, Ellijay, GA and Erica Ericson, Adairsville, GA, grandsons, Gunner, Bodie, Colton, Kohen, and Bradley.   Eric is also survived by his mother Patricia Lashbrook of Canton, GA; sisters, Teri (Tom) Williams and Pamela (Gary) Easley, both of Galesburg; Krista (Freddie) Jones, Canton, GA, Clarise (Harold) Fenner, Burlington, IA, Gail (Holman) Jones, TX, Kim (Richard) Taylor, Rapatee, IL, and Sara (Ron) Harris, CO; brothers, Karl Ericson, Canton, GA, Scott Ericson, Ben Ericson, and Josh Ericson, all of NE.  He was preceded in death by his father and brothers, Phillip and Ronnie Ericson; his grandparents; and aunts and uncles. Eric worked as an Independent Contractor, specializing in roofing, carpentry, and siding.  He loved to fish and hunt.  He enjoyed cooking and relic hunting, searching for old bricks and bottles.  He loved his grandsons and was an amazing father.  His greatest joy in life was his family and friends.  Eric was always willing to lend a helping hand. Cremation is being accorded.  A celebration of Eric’s life will be held on Thursday, December 17 from 12:00 – 5:00 pm at the Henderson Town Hall, 215 S Main St, Henderson, IL.  Arrangements have been entrusted to Watson Thomas Funeral Home and Crematory, Galesburg.  Memorials may be made to the family in care of the funeral home.
