Ethel M. Cadwell

Ethel M. Cadwell, 85, of 275 E. Carl Sandburg Dr., formerly of 685 N. Farnham St., Galesburg, died at 10:15 a.m. on December 4, 2006 at Marigold Health Care Center.   Ethel was born on February 5, 1921 in Victoria, the daughter of James H. and Myrtle Deckard Thompson.  She married Harold Beckman.  He died on August 3, 1976.  She then married Raymond C. Cadwell on March 3, 1977 in Altona.  She is survived by 2 brothers, Melvin Thompson of Galva and David Thompson of Galesburg; 2 sisters, Loretta Wells of Galesburg and Betty Patrick of Normal.  Preceding her in death were 8 brothers and 2 sisters.   She worked at OMC Gale Products, retiring in 1975 and was a crossing guard for 10 years, retiring in 1985.  Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. on Thursday December 7, 2006 at Watson Funeral Home.  Burial will be in Altona Cemetery, Altona.  Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.
